Location:

This position is based in Harare, though the Teacher Training Program Manager may be asked to travel around the country from time to time.

Employment Type:

This is a full-time, in-person position with potential for hybrid remote work. At times, the Teacher Training Program Manager may be expected to work after-hours and on weekends to accommodate for events and workshops. After hours time will be deducted from the normal work week.

Position Overview:

The Teacher Training Program Manager will be responsible for leading Uncommon’s Teacher Training Pilot Program, where our goal is to train, empower and support 100+ Government school teachers to teach computer coding in their classrooms to 10,000+ students. If successful, we intend to expand nationwide.

The Teacher Training Program Manager will report directly to the Head of Education, Country Manager, CEO and is expected to be a self-motivated, ambitious leader who is eager to drive Uncommon’s next phase of growth and bring a free coding education into every classroom in Zimbabwe.

Mission: To provide free digital education and employment training to young adults from underserved communities around the world.

Goal: To make Zimbabwe the most tech literate country in Africa, and then replicate our model in developing communities around the world. 

In 2023, Uncommon provided free computer coding lessons to over 5,000 primary and secondary students in Harare and Bulawayo, and trained more than 100 unemployed young adults for the technology workforce. In 2024, Uncommon is on pace to double its impact while preparing for nationwide expansion.
