Location:

This position is based in Harare, though the Fundraising & Partnerships Manager may be asked to travel nationally / internationally from time to time.

Employment Type:

This is a full-time, in-person position with potential for hybrid remote work. At times, the Fundraising & Partnerships Manager may be expected to work after-hours and on weekends to accommodate for donors, partners and events. After hours time will be deducted from the normal work week.

Position Overview:

The Fundraising & Partnerships Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing Uncommon’s Zimbabwe fundraising strategy with the ultimate goal of turning Uncommon Zimbabwe into a financially sustainable organization.

The Fundraising & Partnerships Manager will report directly to the Country Manager, CEO and Board of Directors and is expected to be a self-motivated, ambitious leader who is eager to drive Uncommon’s next phase of growth.

Organizational Background

Uncommon is a nonprofit Trust organization established under Zimbabwean law in 2018. 

Vision: A world where everyone, everywhere, has access to technology resources, education and employment opportunities.

Mission: To provide free digital education and employment training to young adults from underserved communities around the world.

Goal: To make Zimbabwe the most tech literate country in Africa, and then replicate our model in developing communities around the world. 

In 2023, Uncommon provided free computer coding lessons to over 5,000 primary and secondary students in Harare and Bulawayo, and trained more than 100 unemployed young adults for the technology workforce. In 2024, Uncommon is on pace to double its impact while preparing for nationwide expansion.
