We're excited to bring our community in New York City together for a Spring cocktail party to celebrate Uncommon.org's work in Zimbabwe!

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Betaworks, 29 Little West 12th Street, NYC

Special thank you to our host committee:

Arianna Pina, Chris Ricks, Christopher Beaty, Demcy Grill, Gabe Guedez, Kendrec Ferrara, Michelle Lee, Nicola Setterdahl, Pawel Maslag, Sonja Hofstetter.

Over the last few years, Uncommon.org has grown tremendously, from just over 1,000 annual beneficiaries to more than 20,000 learners across our free technology education programs last year alone.

The collision of AI and Starlink has the potential to completely transform Zimbabwe, and it's the young people we work with who we believe will lead the country through its digital transition.

We hope you will join us for an evening that is both engaging and meaningful, and that contributes directly to the next phase of Uncommon's growth.

Can't make it? You can make a donation to support the expansion of our free technology education programs here. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Most coding programs teach you to build software.

Few teach you what it takes to build a business.

That gap is why we started the Uncommon Builders Club, and our CEO, J. Peter Kazickas, leads it.

Every two weeks, current bootcamp students gather online to do two things:

→ Study a real founder's journey: how they identified a problem and validated the solution, what they got right, where they almost broke, and how they kept going.
→ Present their own early-stage startup ideas to the group and get feedback.

The goal isn't to turn every student into a founder. It's to give every student a founder's mindset, the habit of seeing problems and asking, 'What would it take to fix this?'

Zimbabwe doesn't just need more developers and designers. It needs more problem solvers, and the Builders Club is where that starts.
